Incubus is already derivative of the whole mookish, nu-metal "craze," just with less crying and a more waifish singer. Since they are fifth-string ripoffs themselves, there can be no lower. hoobastank is a peer of Incubus, hardly a knockoff. And how DARE you compare The White Stripes to the Strokes. And the Stripes CANNONT be "copies" of The Strokes since my beloved Stripes are on their THIRD album, while the Strokes are on still on first base...and both sound completely different. The Strokes have a distinct NY glam/punk sound that calls on The Stooges, Patti Smith, and The Velvet Underground, while The White Stripes have a much "dirtier," more folksy/blues approach to their music. They both, however, fall under the loose umbrella title of the "nu-garage" movement, a genre that includes them, The Hives, International Noise Conspiracy, Thursday, and The Mooney Suzuki.
