: : I've been clinically diagnosed as "depressed" once when I was 13 and again when I was 15. I considered suicide when I was 14 over some really, REALLY inane bullshit (ie-much like "brodiebruce," I was mentally frozen by the social rejection at the hands of a few of my so-called "peers"...the "breaking point" was when I was overtly distressed because somebody pulled a chair out from under me in the lunchroom and everyone laughed. Laughed SO hard.) but instead I bit the bullet, effectively "got over it," focused on the many, MANY positive aspects of my life, quashed as much of the negative as possible, and went to have a exuberantly happy time for the rest of my 7 years of school.

: Nice to hear that you got through that.

: : Suicide is only an option for the weak and the coddled and the childish, and I will have no time for it. Quit chiding them for their flagrant acceptance of their own inadequacy and show some "tough" love for once in your life.

: i think you might have misused the word 'chiding' there. Anyway, i'm not saying you should 'have time' for suicide. I am saying that you shouldn't be a shit to people so depressed that they would even consider it an viable option, especially when you don't even know the person in question. You got through depression, so well done, but that doesn't justify you being a twat about everyone who hasn't got through it or learnt to deal with it yet. Showing 'tough love' to someone you don't know on an anonymous webboard is stupid and irresponsible.
