I don't mean to, like, be attacking anyone's self-applied labels or anything but... I'm of the personal opinion that most people are to some varying degree bisexual. And having a hard and fast definition for one's identity when one's trying to figure out who they are, what they're all about can be liberating if it's heartfelt... but I think when it comes down to it, no one should ever say never about anything.
The brother and sisterhood of being out and political and proud has helped a lot of my gay and bisexual friends figure out who they are and what they mean to do with this life... and not feel shame and stand up for their right to express love however they want... which is absolutely fucking awesome.
But... I think that buying too heavily into any one label or identity can fuck you up sometimes, reign you in too much, make you feel guilty or weird or untrue to yourself if you live outside of that label for a while.
It's caused a lot of self-defined straight friends of mine to feel weird about experimenting, self-defined gay friends to feel guilty and self-defined bisexual friends to just feel... ideologically and sexually homeless, really.
To thine own heart and soul and mind and naughty bits be true.
Don't sweat definitions so much.
Semantics are an orally-contagious cancer that will kill us all if we let them.
