We could see him as a Commander. Frankly I don't think they slip enough in-references for the fans who also read the books. I mena, Kev has no problem slipping in jokes you had to read the comics to get. Why can't Lucas be so fan friendly?

NERD REPRESENT!), and I saw the results of a poll that asked What Expanded Unvierse SW Character would poeple most like to see in Episode III. It was a tight race judging by the numbers, but the solid winner with 54% was everybody's favorite SW Novel character Grand Admiral Thrawn (though for EpII he'd probably be a Captain or soemthing). Is this fucking cool or what? I bet Timothy Zahn would be happy.

That means during the Empire's rule he was working up the ranks, but not before that. And Episode IV starts with the Empire just becoming a monarchy.
