My experience being interviewed for television: When someone turns a camera on me I freeze like Bambi. I become hyper-aware of the camera (maybe it's that big freaking LIGHT) and I forget all the intelligent and witty things I'd planned to say.
So I'm impressed with anyone who doesn't keep looking at the camera and can actualy remember their lines. I've seen some really wooden acting performances in indie films, so the freeze-and-blank phenomenon is not limited to me. People who think they're actors sometimes do that too. Jason Mewes does not. Next step: playing Hamlet on Broadway.
