: if you came over to my house, and we had a discussion, and at the end of it you had nothing to say so your big retort was: "well your grammer sucks so you are an idiot", you would get your ass kicked just on the principal of the thing. by everyone around. a "grammer" insult in reality is like saying "oh yeah well same to you". stupid.
Nailing someone on their grammar is less like a "same to you", more like a "for Christ's sake, if you want to be taken seriously in any way whatsoever, please pick one language and go with it".
People are now rallying around their right to misspell, to abbreviate insipidly and engage in poor sentence construction.
As a culture, we have now officially jumped the shark.
: there was a time when names like "asshole" and "fuckhead" and "faggot" used to be big insults. with the internet there is a much worse term. one that causes even the highest of the high to tremble at the thought of being called this name. "newbie". in reality this would be like someone insulting someone else for partying all weekend and getting laid, while they stayed home memorizing the middle name of all view askew cast members. often the "newbie" is also "young" so all you are doing is insulting a kid. way to go. in the end, its just another name, and name calling is silly. the last resort of a weak mind.
And, friend, I would never attack anyone for being new.
There's lots of stupid assholes who've been around forever... and some of the most eloquent intelligent motherfuckers around here are quite new to the game.
It's not "new vs old". It's "coherency, common sense and common decency vs stupid assholes".
And anyone who tells you differently should be hung out in the courtyard on a string of "ru"s "ur"s "lol"s and other such inanities.
