: Hey, I'm not sure who all here follows the works of Michael Moore (Roger & Me, Canadian Bacon, The Big One), well, I met him a couple days ago at my school (Univ. of Mich-Flint) where he once attended (Roger & Me was shot entirely in Flint, MI) and I have to say, that is one of the smartest men I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. I think everyone here should check out his latest book, Stupid White Men..and other sorry excuses for the state of the nation --- it encourages everyone to have a voice in this country to make change, and if any of you have seen Roger & Me, you know that at least one town is in need of chance (I go to school in Flint, it's gotten even worse since his movie)... just thought I'd mention this since Kevin/Mike had similar stories, made indie film that attracted the attention of large distributors, that sort of thing. Oh, Mike's book just reached #1 on NY Times bestseller list, and will be listed in the NY Times as officially doing so on the 24th of this month. I'm so glad for him, he really is a great man. In case you didn't know, he's the "Mike" in Spike, Mike, Slackers and Dykes, the book that's being read at the bookstore in the mall in Mallrats.
last night and came home so pumped I had to write about it - It was a blast and that movie his making will be incredible.
He is so intelligent, and it's not just the facts (which he has - he quoted the phone number for the White House, and some guy handed him a cell phone, so he called, and held the phone up to the mike.
The operator said the White House was closed, call Monday. So he says, well in the Clinton Whitehouse, you guys were open 24-7.
Poor, poor operator. I hope she can still hear after laugh that got.
