I really wish we had more Kevin Smith's in the world. No, not just any Kevin Smith, but the one that this Website is dedicated to. There are so many hunks of total crap coming out of Hollywood that it almost numbs you from knowing what is good and what is bad. Every once in a while you get a movie that doesn't suck like LOTR and you think to yourself...why can't they just make movies like this. Surely the big movie studios understand that if the movie is good then it makes money. Yet every time I go to the local rental store there are 10 movies that never went to the Movie Plex 24 or even got a limited screening on some backwater theatres. They just keep pumping out the crapola and avoiding anything that remotely goes agains the Hollywood template. Kevin Smith may not make the greatest epic movies but Christ, he could have done better than Tim Burton on Planet of the Apes. At least it would not have stunk up the screen. Give Kevin $100 million to make a movie and he will make 5 excellent movies for around half that. So far Hollywood has killed the following movies that I think Kevin would have made into masterpieces:
Planet of the Apes
Rollerball
Lost in Space
Porn with Ron Jeremy
the list goes on
