: Seems like every time I get pumped up for a movie lately I get
disappointed, maybe I set my expectations to high. The time machine
wasn’t bad, but it was average at best. Parts of it seemed like a
cartoon that was filmed live, if that makes any sense. The usually
solid Pearce seemed like he was overacting in the first act.
Somehow I think that may be the directors fault. In one scene it
almost seemed Pearce and Addy where acting in a play and a bad
one at that. It did move along at a fast pace, but the whole
Eloi/Morlock thing was poorly done. Everyone already knows that
special effects were very good and the vision of 2030 was very well
done. Jones was a treat but I can’t buy that the operating system
survived almost a million years.
: I’m very excited about spider-man. I can only hope Raimi comes
through for us.
I have to say I was disappointed with Time Machine and especially
Pearce's performance. The original film is very good and its point is
very clear. The "remake" is very jumbled and would have been much
better if the director and those involved in the making of the film kept it
relatively simple like the 1960 version.
