I posted this earlier, as a reply, but wanted to make a topic of it as well.
This whole thing came about when someone said they would like to see "A Better Place" projected. We film-philes know there's a huge difference between seeing a movie projected versus even a large screen TV.
So, here's my idea
If you live in the DC metro area, I'm offering my place (or if thousands respond I'll rent a place ;) to screen "A Better Place" and "Drawing Flies" (at least - maybe The Phantom Edit as well and the top secret Under-Dogma re-edit or the nearly finished Clerks:Redux).
This would be a free event as I can't charge you to see other people's movies (duh), but I think it would be a great thing for some area Smith and View Askew fans to get together and tie one on, while seeing some great flicks to boot.
We use a video projector as our TV which gives us a 100 inch diagonal screen. And the sound system is, well, amazing.
So, you've seen them on TV, now let's see if there's interest to get together and see them projected, as they were meant to be.
I know this sounds crazy, but who knows, if more people than can fit in my apartment want to do this, the sky's the limit!
