Yeah, he was at the Univ of Mich-Flint giving a lecture on poverty issues in Flint, MI and he showed a screening of Roger & Me, as a precursor to his lecture. He is a very smart man who gives very informative and entertaining lectures. I was covering his lecture for The Michigan Times, our campus newspaper, so I was sitting near the front, and after his lecture I talked with him for a couple minutes and had him sign my copy of Stupid White Men (awesome book). He was in Ann Arbor the night before Flint at the Michigan Theater, I believe. In addition to his UM-F lecture, he also did a book discussion and signing at the Flint Borders Books. I would have gone, but I alreayd had by book signed and I anticipated huge lines, being that it was his homecoming (Flint resident returning to Flitn with the hot-selling #1 book in the country) and he had packed houses on his book tour along the west coast, even drawing the cops at one point... so I decided that the first lecture was good, and went home and started reading his book. Very good stuff. I need to borrow the DVD's of The Awful Truth, my friend owns them. I also still need to read Downsize This!
I'll probably pick that one up this week. This is the first time I have ever been riveted by a lecture. College lectures usually force me to sleep in class. I wouldn't mind having Mike Moore as a poli sci professor in college, though the one i have now, (Stephen Rockwell, another published author, search for him on Amazon.com) is very good, too. Man, I still can't get over how good Moore is. He got a standing ovation several times from the audience, particularly since he can relate to us, being that he grew up in the same neighborhoods we did and went to the same school we do.
