In 1984, when Akyrod (sp) and Ramis were writing the movie script for Ghostbusters, there was a cartoon by filmation by the same name, featuring a fat guy (who I always thought resembled Ray) an Ape, and a weird skull-headed thing (i think). It was QUITE bad. Then, in '89 or '90 (whenever the cartoon was released) they called it the REAL Ghostbusters to eliminate any confusion with the former cartoon...so as to show that it was tied in with the movie...

Don't get me started on Extreme Ghostbusters...

: : better than that piece of shit "Ghostbusters" cartoon with the ape.

: Eh? What was this?

: The entire time "Real Ghostbusters" was on the air, I wondered why it had that title, and nobody ever seemed to know (didn't help that everyone asked was a fellow nine-year-old). Are you saying that there was an earlier "Ghostbusters" cartoon which changed things around, thereby making the more loyal cartoon version "real"?
