Well, DTS on DVD has taken a plunge recently. DTS for Saving Private Ryan is much better than its Dolby counterpart. This was because at the time, DTS had a much higher sampling rate that DD. On Saving Private Ryan, the DTS version doesn't have enough room for the documentary that was included with the Dolby Digital version. Also, Suspiria LE is often touted as having a bad Dolby Digital Mix. I was told the DTS was less Jacked up. Since recent DVD's include both Dolby Digital and DTS, the differences have shrunk tremendously and are now fairly similar.
