All Right, Here Goes:

1. Dogma: The most complete of Kevin Smith's movies, tying fall on your
ass humor with thought provoking and insightful subject material. Sure
there were a few mis-fires (the rubber pile of crap, Bartelby's head
exploding like a water baloon full of tomato paste, Chris Rock's
almost naked ass), but overall, this flick was completely satisfying,
both emotionally and cerebrally. I notice that it is low or last on most
of the lists that have been posted here, probably for exactly the
reasons I stated above.

2. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back: The slickest and funniest of Kev's
movies, and one of the best comedies I have ever seen. I mean the thing
was close to seamless--fast paced, great gags, visually engaging, cool
guest spots, and more parody and pop culture fun than you can shake a
bong sabre at. I think this is a great jumping off point for Kevin to
start doing other projects because this is the first time I have seen
him fill the director's chair perfectly (although Dogma was close). The
other films (while good in their own right) were like Film Making 401.
J&SB:SB was so good that any new material along these lines would be
redundant. Kevin went out on a high note with this one, and making
another Askewnivers flick might be about as smart as MJ coming out of
retirement to play for the Wizards. Sure it is great to see him play
again, but it is kind of pitiful too.

3. Clerks: So different, so crude, and so funny that it deserved to launch
Kevin Smith's career. The classic that started it all. I want to put the
Clerks Uncensored Animated series in this slot too, not just because it
shares some of the same base material, but because it featured Jeff
Anderson in a starring spot, which he is certainly funny enough to
deserve. Jeff's screen time has been way too short since the original
Clerks and it was nice to see him back in a primary position (albeit an
animated one). The Flying Car was brilliant as well. If Jay and Silent
Bob are Turk and Grotto, Jeff is the mutherfukin Kingpin O' Crime!!!

4. Mallrats: Lest you think I am the ass kisser, let me tell you right now
that this flick was pretty weak. It had some great elements present,
and some unforgettable segments, but it suffered from a bad primary
story. Some of the pixels were gold, but the big picture was a crappy
schooner.

5. Chasing Amy: Hated it. Not so much because of the subject material,
because it was a half way decent story, but because it was so loud
and raw. If I wanted to listen to people scream at each other for an
hour and a half, I could have just picked a fight with my current
girlfriend. I left that flick unmoved emotionally and with my ears
ringing like I had sat front row speaker at a [Insert Favorite Loud
Metal Band Name Here] concert.

Warning--this list is subject to change without notice--but I doubt it.
