The film festival type showing is definetly a good way to start, but in order to really get anywhere you need to follow a similar path that a book writer would. You need to find an agent. If you call up a few places or look carefully, you can find fairs where you can take your script and a few other things that these places ask for and get your script read. Most places will not even read your script unless it comes through an agent...it really has to do with a lot of legal stuff that I don't really understand. Good Luck!
