Wings of desire

Has anyone seen Wim Wenders "wings of desire"?
It's about an Angel who listens to peoples thoughts and then falls in love with a circus performer. Anyway, it was a long time ago when I saw this but at the end, if I remember rightly, the angel falls to earth and suddenly seems to be carrying a breast plate from a suit of amour. Do you thing Matt and Bens Angel suits were a nod to this?
