once I realized that a 5k is roughly 3.1 miles I was like, "Duh!" and felt sheepish but didn't post to point out my stupidity lest I be mocked :)
Oh well...
And kilos I know 'cause I took French in school and 2.2lbs = 1 kilo. Plus I know a guy that works for customs.
