"~why does the catholic church try to dictate what we should watch,"
-They don't.
"what we should do,"
-how? They guide but do not judge.
"how to pray"
-Umm, they're a religion, what do you expect...
and so on but yet their priests, who are put on pedistals (sp?) cant keep their hands off little boys??
-Don't generalize.
": i am not catholic and i realize that this has been goin on for a looonnngggg time. "
- Yes, as has media inflation. While the paedophile cases are indeed horrible, the American media doesn't talk about how many cases are dropped because the "victims" admit they were never touched and were just after money.
"i just dont and cant respect people who are supposed to be held in such high regard in the eyes of God but yet do something so hidious."
Neither can I. Then again, it's not all of them is it?
"i believe in God, amongst other things, but i dont feel that the only way to show my faith is to go to church."
We're not making you.
"after what has happened in MY church, i dont want someone preaching to me about faith and the 10 commandments when they can not practice what they preach."
Usually the church orders the priests to leave. However, Bishops and co. who might have been seminary pals with the guilty will unfotunately try and cover it up. Now THAT is scandalous and wrong.
"just curious what everyone else thought of this whole situation."
The Catholic Church? It's my church of choice, not obligation.
The paedophiles? I hope those who have been wrongfully accused will be vindicated, while the guilty should be punished. Severely.
