The whole idea of a monarchy is out-dated. All they do is sponge off the taxpayer, piss off on ski-ing holidays whenever the mood takes them, and complain that although they're in a position that attracts media attention, that they don't want the media to follow them.
They have no power whatsoever,so why are they there?
And fair enough, the Queen Mother has died. But she was 101. There are people who don't live to half that age.
The Royal Family are an antiquities, a throwback to a time long forgotten. The quicker the monarchy are abolished, and Phil and Lizzie and their clan are punted off to a three bedroomed semi-detached house in suburbia, the better.
And before I get any smart comments, I should point out that I live in Britain. I've lived with the sight of the Monarchy, and the assorted hangers on with little titles, stepping off private planes, and yachts that the tax-paying public finance.
