i loved dogma. i can watch it over and over and never get tired of it. i watched it with my then boyfriend who is a morman and discussed it with my friend who is a christian. this may sound pathetic, but i'm very naive when it comes to religion and i actually believed the back story to the movie, (even the doo doo monster who was created by the sh*t that came out of people who were crusified). my christian friend set me straight, she had a good sense of humor. my then morman boyfriend wasn't offended because i think he was just plain stupid to begin with and wouldn't even know what to get offended about. for someone so strong in his religion, he had nothing to say. i have no catholic friends, but have heard some lame comments. I DEFEND THIS MOVIE TO ANY OF MY FRIENDS WHO THINK THEY ARE MOVIE CRITICS. i rant and rave claiming that this movie is the best thing i've ever seen. there was one uncomfortable scene in the movie. it was when loki killed the executive board at mooby's. i watched dogma in the theater about a little after the xerox corporation killing here in honolulu, where one crazy man came in killing his bosses and co-workers with a gun. it was on cnn; he ended up killing 10 people, including my co-worker's brother. i hoped that it didn't cause a controvery here because i encouraged my family and friends to watch it. it didn't. my favorite seen is when salma's character declares that "no denomination has got it yet" (or something) and that "it doesn't matter what you have faith in, as long as you have faith." the morman boyfriend kept trying to convert me, my chritian friend kept telling me i would be damned if i believed in good luck charms from my mom, and on top of all that, my dad's side of the family tapped me into some japanese budism from the time i was small. it's hard to say what religion i am.

dogma is #1, it's my bible to having a "good idea" about religion and kevin smith is GOD for writing and directing it.
