Archangel Metatron

Dear Kevin Smith,

I was pleasantly surprised to see that you had selected the Archangel Metatron as a main character in "Dogma" and I was wondering, what inspired you to do so? Are you interested in New Age spirituality or theosophy? Metatron is a very "hip" angel in those movements and literature
(cf. especially "The Keys of Enoch: The Book of Knowledge").
Also, how doctrinaire would you describe yourself? Are you interested in alternative religion, spirituality, Gnostic Christianity or the like?
Thanks for great, hilarious movies, by the way. I laughed so hard at "Mallrats" that my stomach literally hurt me. I saw it twice in the theater.
