Yes, it a very well made film. An IRISH director, I might add - Steve Barron, best known for "Coneheads" and the excellent video for A-Ha's "Take On Me". He was seriously pissing off the studio by insisting on a much darker tone for the film, but they got their own back, having certain scenes recut and dubbing a couple of the Turtle's voices to make them more appealing.
We STILL await the director's cut!
BEST work Elias Koteas ever did.
My only problems were with the sound/editing in fight scenes - footr soldiers falling over having never been touched, kick/punch noises off, etc.
