I have a question, why do people insist that there are "inconsistencies" and that there has to be a strict timeline in the Askewniverse?
It's my feeling that even though the movies are linked, there are so many holes that the links are more like references to past movies rather than a real world. Hell, Chasing Dogma screws everything up (timeline wise) beyond everything anyway.
Besides, in Chasing Amy, Jay kind of insinuates that the persona of Bob and Jay created by Holden might be the ones we see in Mallrats; pissed off that he makes them say, "Snootchie bootchies" and shit.
It just seems to me that it's more likely Kevin just wanted to make little references to all the movies instead of connect the plots directly.
Sort of like how Highlander fucked with the original plot in all the sequels.
If they did connect, it would be like a bunch of sequels and prequels despite the title differences (A la Jewel of the Nile and Romancing the Stone)
I dunno. The thought just occured to me the other day.
