I'm also working on a romantic comedy. I;m writing it as a short story since I have no discernible scrip writing talent. I'm gonna take it to a professional (my sister was the 1st AD on an Indie flick called Counting Days) and ask her to adapt it. Anywya, it's actually an anti-romantic comedy. I even have an idea for the poster. Have the protagonist couple on it holding each other, and above them, the tagline "Do you hate movies like Sleepless in Seattlie and Autum in new York? Well so do they!"
: I can't believe that this guy wrote on and said my script idea was like Chasing Amy just because it's about a guy who can't date a girl cause she's in love with someone else.
: For one thing that wasn't what Chasing Amy was about. Amy was about the trouble couples have in dealing with their sexual pasts.
: My script is a simple romantic comedy which came from the idea of what men do when they're turned down by a girl and went from there.
: If you think this is ripping off Amy, then you must surely think that Amy ripped off other romantic comedies. But it didn't, it was it's own movie.
: So stop making stupid accusations.
