Who the hell thought Jason X was a good idea?

I want to know what movie exec thought greenlighting a movie about Jason 400 years in the future was a good idea? It must have been the same guy that thought Blair Witch Project 2 was a good idea, or hell... BWP 1 for that matter.

Does anyone else think this was an extremely bad idea?
