An excellent film altogether. I wish more summer films were like this! Tobey Maguire was a wonderful casting and watching him, I can't imagine a better Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Everything is done with a sense of humour and lots of action - just when you think you're at Spider-Man's and the Green Goblin's final showdown, there's more, and more, and MORE!

Willem Dafoe is an excellent Norman Osborne, Kirsten Dunst is an excellent Mary Jane and James Franco is an excellent Harry Osborn. Notice a theme here? EXCELLENT!

I feel like I'm twelve again. That's how cool this film is!

PS Kirsten in the rain... (cue Homeric drool)

The familiar story unfurls patiently and never seems long. Instead of rushing into Spider-Man effects, Sam Raimi directs the film at a leisurely pace, making sure that the story isn't being pushed along too fast to accomodate all the action, humour and drama that Peter Parker undergoes in his transformation. The death of his uncle and the horrors he suffers are genuinely heartbreaking.

The Green Goblin's suit looks ridiculous at first, but as the film goes on, you realize that is an excellent reflection of what Osborne would want, helped along by his house's oft-scene selection of masks. Dafoe talking to himself in the mirror with a split persoanlity is wonderful to watch.

The action scenes awesome! While some CGI is obvious, it's never distracting. The apartment-on-fire fight, the bridge fight, the decrepit building fight... my stars, it's great to watch!
