I like Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short, but Steve Martin is the only one I can stand to watch in movies. Martin Short's films suck. I mean, they are bad. "Clifford"? "Captain Ron"? His best performance was the wedding coordinator in "Father of the Bride" with Steve Martin. Steve Martin's best work was in the early 1980s. I loved "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid", "Man With Two Brains", "The Jerk"...those were hilarious. And even though it was somewhat sappy, I thought "Parenthood" was good.

Chase, on the other hand, has done only a handful of films I've enjoyed. His recent films have been awful.
