actually my son came home and told me that the teachers could not spank them. they held an assembly on good touch, bad touch and the kids were told that they were not to be spanked by anyone in the school. he's in 1st grade. also papmhlets were sent home on child abuse and ways to refrain from physically disciplining your child, i.e., time-outs, sending them to a corner, talking thru bad behavior...and all of it was explainede to the children and they were told to call a phone number if they were being abused (the number was sent home with them-it's a refigerator magnet)
