Any of you that were here yesterday probably witnessed a little anti-Lopez from my direction.
I finally watched Chasing Amy again last night, I've seen it tons of times but it'd been a while since I last saw it. Truth it it affected me last night the same way it did when I first saw it...like a sledghammer to the heart. That scene where Holden declares his love (was it something I said?), the fight outside the hockey rink...all of it. It's been a long time since I've gotten chills from watching a movie, but last night, I did.
This is newbie fan boy shit coming up, but Kevin if you read this, thank you. (I may be flamed for that, but I've been here long enough to expect it and long enough not to care)

I also realized that Kevin has managed, in the past, to wring performances out of other people I don't like. I hate Alannis Morisette's music, but she was perfect as God. Hell, outside of the Askewniverse (and Phantoms yo) I really don't care for Affleck's work much...but Smith has this uncanny nack for bringing the best out in people, from VanderBeeck and Pie Fucker to Florentino.

So I'm for it. I couldn't be happier. If Smith thinks Lopez is right for the job, then she is.
