The film is based around his love of the Salinger novel "Catcher In The Rye", and he goes on a trip to search for him.
Holden Caulfield is the main character of the book. He also happens to the namesake for Kev's character in "Chasing Amy" (Banky Edwards is also from that book - coach Ed Banky).
