i happen to love the film myself. Tom Cruise is awesome in it. And the Biblical references alone unite the whole unity and coincidence theme etc in the film
However, i can see why many people do not like it. It is long, drags on and on and on and on, without much action or interesting developments. It takes a long damn time for this film to get to its point. Why should everyone like it?
: i find it hard to believe that film buff as yourself hates magnolia. watch it again kevin. give it another shot. it IS a great movie...why cant you see that? you say its a self-serving film from P.T Anderson, i say its a work of art that has some amazing scenes and an overall uplifting look at human beings. we all share this world. we all are part of the same flower, connected at the root, we are just too blind or too uncaring to see it.
