Ever seen a TOOL video??
I cant be sure its not just Tool but they are a great example..
The videos Tool puts out are not only intoxicating visual accompaniments to their music, they all have messages or are made to invoke an emotion. The band itself admits to creating "something more" with every video. The videos are intended to make you think differently..
Therefore yes, they have transcended comercials.
