which is why I admire Dogma so much. It was edgy for him to tackle the subject in the first place.

I think the people who sent Kevin Smith deaththreats were overly-sensitive and didn't give Dogma a chance. But its understandable that there would be some people who would be offended that much, immidiately raise thier pitchforks and declare "burn the witch!".

which is why I think his move to make Dogma was gutsy. It says alot that he would bare his soul, full knowing the backlash he was going to receive.

His critics missed the point in what Dogma was saying, labeling it as anti-religious whatever, that the issue of God, creation, good and evil, and faith go deeper than the surface of differing secular religions, that the movie infact was 'very religious', just not in the traditional chatechism/dogma sermon (seal-approved) way.

He put forth a very personal veiwpoint, and I'm sure that there are alot of people that got it, despite those who saw only the surface controversy and immidiately dismissed it as blasphemy.
