The Jennifer Lopez starrer Enough is being pummeled by most critics. Stephen Holden in the New York Times concludes: "In the end you have to wonder why the highly reputed director Michael Apted (Coal Miner's Daughter) and the gifted screenwriter Nicholas Kazan (Reversal of Fortune) chose to go slumming in territory like this. They must have been offered wads of money to do the dirty job." As for Lopez, Rene Graham comments in the Boston Globe: "Lopez, once on the brink of a serious acting career with 1998's sharp, sexy Out of Sight, now seems hopeless on the big screen. Her oversized, overexposed Jennifer-ness may work in videos or on the red carpet, but it smothers any ability she may have had to convincingly play a character."
