In hindsight, I have no clue why I spent my preteen years watching so many horrible Fox sitcoms-- or why I remember them.
: I always stuck around for the post-MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN show every Sunday night at 9:30 for almost a decade. I saw 'em all, your HERMAN'S HEAD, your TOP OF THE HEAP, your GEORGE CARLIN SHOW, your DREXELL'S CLASS, your DADDY DEAREST. I was the proverbial fly on poop for Fox Sunday night.
Weren't "Herman's Head" and "Drexell's Class" on Thursday nights? Somehow, I remember it that way. Anyway, I remember being in the early stages of puberty and having a whole lot of lust for the slutty older sister on "Drexell's Class", as well as Joey Adams in "Top Of The Heap" and its successor, "Vinny And Bobby".
What was the show with Tea Leoni in it? "Flying Blind"?
: Ditto the 8:30 slot (which was alternately post-SIMPSONS and post-IN LIVING COLOR; they shifted a lot), with your ROC, your HOUSE OF BUGGIN', your TOO SOMETHING, your NED AND STACY, your PJs, your MONTY, your LIVING SINGLE, your BABES, your THE EDGE, your FLYING BLIND, your PARTNERS, your SHAKY GROUND.
I loved "Roc". I felt like I was watching a high-quality HBO show or something.
: And don't get me started on their Saturday night fare, with your CHARLIE HOOVER, your WOOPS!, your TOTALLY HIDDEN VIDEO, your SIGHTINGS.
Was "Charlie Hoover" the one with Sam Kinison as that guy's anti-conscience? "Oops!" was a favourite of mine, and "Totally Hidden Video" was cool, too.
Notable omissions from your post: "Parker Lewis Can't Lose" and "Get A Life", which were my two favourites.
: Yup, I saw me lots of crap. The Fox network owes me big-time for my mental anguish.
Fox didn't invent bad sitcoms, but they sure did pick up the ball and run with it.
