your not old fashioned....marriage should be based on love, and no your aren't being a mother hen either, you are looking out for a friend..simple as that, like you said hes like your 'son if he was younger/you were older' type of thing and so you naturally want the best for him, and its pretty clear to you that this isn't the best for him, but at the moment, he doesn't see the same way you do...but give him time and you never know...has your husband tried talking to him too? that might be good???
