I liked the film. It really kept you guessing, and the ending is strange, yet in the scope of a self contained film, it worked well. I liked Vanilla Sky 8000 times better than AI (Which I thought was crap)..

Jason had a good supporting role and I think he did a great job. I applaud him because I know for a fact I couldn't stand eye to eye with Cruise and keep from laughing out loud at him. Perhaps that's why I'm not an actor.

While watching the film, I knew the repeated foreshadowing of Buddy the dog had something to do with the story in the end, but wasn't sure how. Sure, this concept has been touched upon in Total Recall with Arnold Schwartzenegger(sp), but Vanilla Sky made better use of it and didn't overload you with the concept.

The cinematography was fantastic. Some very surreal dream like scenes that I really enjoyed. There were a few bits of humor throughout the film that I enjoyed as well. If you haven't seen this film and are sitting on the fence, I would recommend it. And I'm not a huge Cruise fan at all, so that's saying something.

BTW: I noticed at the end of the film, that this was basicaly a remake of a French film. No wonder the French hate us so much, we take their good movies and put Tom Cruise in them! :)
