If you're going to use that Fight Club set up, get it right. For example, I always loved a certain Chasing Amy line, but never really got the chance to use it, until I was walking with some girls and one said "Heh, she said you're hung like a baby" (too much backstory, use your imagination), so I immediately replied "Does her mother tell her everything?!"
My point is, it's okay to use the set up (when it's appropriate), but don't give the punchline unless it fits. Your reply made no sense compared to what he said, and you come off sounding like a total tard. And based on previous posts, I wouldn't put that past you.
