Why did you all become Smith fans in the first place? THAT'S RIGHT! - you liked his style. Well, guess what, fellas? It's the same guy, and he's still making movies.
What's that? Not the same characters? Well, shit. It was my understanding that a filmmaker has these things called "ideas". Then, he takes these ideas and creates something out of them. What if all of Kevin's work would have been like 'May Day', huh? If he would've kept on going with that approach - you guessed it! - there wouldv'e never even been a Jay, a Silent Bob, hell, there never would have been a Chaka Luther King! That means you would have to use your imagination when you all touch yourselves. Ohhh, no!
So.. basically, here's a big FAH Q to all you folks who've never even read the script or know any info other than the bits and pieces gathered from Kevin's posts & News Askew, yet still think you have the right to tell Kevin who he should and should not cast and who will or won't do a good job.
