Normally I'd agree with you...people believe rap music leads to murder and drug use, violent video games lead to school shootings, cartoon camels are the reasons kids smoke etc, etc, etc....but I think that ad is really, really blatant.
If it were just the two cups without the "collapse" or dragonfly and people were getting upset, I'd say, "sure, just an honest mistake by the ad company and people are doing a little bit of reaching." However when you throw all of that stuff in the ad together, it doesn't take ANY reaching to see the blatant connection to 9/11. All I can say is I hope that was just an honest, unintentional mistake, but I find that hard to believe. Some twisted fuck probably came up with it as a very unfunny joke then probably shit himself when the execs OK'd it. What a twisted fucking world we live in.
