Is there a reason that this board doesn't offer amenities such as collapsible threads (using the current design) or a new layout more akin to the Poop Shoot board? This would eliminate some of the problems you have concerning the vast amount of page space taken up by polls, flame wars, etc.

I am not a frequenter of many boards, so I don't know the mechanics of any of this. I assume that perhaps it's either a matter of cost (using free cgi script as opposed to paying for high-tech board software) or a matter of entropy (this is how the board started, so it stays).

I agree w/ yr petition in general, but I think the true, and most basic, point is, stick to the rules and enforce them. I don't think we should try to dictate the rules to Ming, Kevin, etc., but just let them know that whatever guidelines rule this board, they should be kept to. If Kevin dictates that at least one thread per day must be a lengthy admiration of his massive package, then Ming should enforce it.

I do think, though, that with the start of the Poop Shoot, this is the perfect time for the "red-letter leaders" to perform a little overview of this board and its rules, mechanics, etc.

Of course I'm a newbie, so fuck me and the sawhorse I rode in on.
