First, just to clarify, I wasn't talking about the movie, I just brought up altar boys in general off-topically (I marked OT somewhere in the message).
In any other case, my thing is that the Catholic Church is corrupt, but there's nothing wrong with the Catholic (c)hurch (lowercase). The religion is fine to me, but the Vatican and whole heirarchy crap is kind of annoying and ironically political.
Even that said, I don't think anyone did anything because of catholicism; those "priests" were assholes, plain and simple, and yes, certain members of the Church (capital "c") are to blame for the placement of troubled priests in a different parish. Even then, they're really only to blame for those priests who "succumbed" a second time. Also, I have high doubts that the Pope himself knew about it (the rotation of priests to other parishes). Hell, I don't know if all the cardinals had any hand in it.
All in all, I'd say "troubled" priests = should be fucking tortured. Catholic Church should repent, and the catholic (c)hurch is fine by me.
