Spiderman was what WB was trying to do with Batmna & Robin but actually succeeding at doing so- that is, make a successful commercialized comic book movie. X men wasn't nearly as commercialized as Spiderman. It was thought of, made, even marketed, specifically for the fanboys, and a few other people got a kick out of it too, so it wasn't a total failure. Reading Moriarity's review of X2 makes me think that this is just the beginning of a ultimate X-men fanboy delight.
