...which means you can't blame yourself. At the same time, however, the squirrel did not "deserve" it for being stupid. That's just bad rationalisation. That being said, I think something like this happens to everyone at one point or another. I syringe feed baby birds, and sometimes I don't get it into their crops properly and they drown in the formula. It sucks, but it's an accident. Human error.

If you're really feeling bad about it, I'm sure the Wildlife Rescue in your area needs volunteers (hint, hint). They're always looking for foster homes for squirrels. There are few things on this earth quite so sweet as having a baby squirrel grab the bottle away from you with both paws and gulp down it's contents. Too cute.

That must have been one hell of a soda can to kill a squirrel, though. Sounds like it was already sick.

: A couple weeks ago I was drinking a soda at school and I was about to throw
: my can in the recycling bin outside (we have a really nice big campus) any
: way I saw a squirrel sitting on the side of the bin. So I was going to
: throw my can in the bin so I could make a lot of noise and scare the
: squirrel off. Well, me and my bad aim I hit the squirrel right in the head
: it suffered for a little and then died, I felt so fucking bad.
: My thing is though if the squirrel was stupid enough to sit there and let a
: can hit it in the head it deserved to die right. All of my friends think
: I'm a squirrel killer, I feel bad but c'mon the squirrel has to take some
: responsibility. I just see it as getting rid of the weak, it's just another
: form of evolution, am i righ
