: With no expectations at all, it's arguably much easier to make a film. Was Clerks that film?

Ummmm....Clerks was just his first film, I do not think Kevin was expecting anything, just wanted to make a damn film, and do it his way.
I think he is a true artist, scrounged his way up the scale..Clerks happened to be fresh, intelligent and said ti Hollywood.. in your 100 million dollar FACE.

: (I've magically transformed into a balanced view). Clerks was deservedly praised, but it was all carried a little too far. People came into Mallrats expecting Clerks, and when they didn't get Clerks, they were confused. It wasn't until years later that Mallrats was given due praise by fans.
OK, multiple man....I think the ones who were confused weren't fans, I think fans LIKED it..I did, it was DIFFERENT yes, some of the acting was a little shoddy, but it was bright, bold and ballsy and cannot be comared to Clerks, and critics tried to compare, so the slammed it, but again I hope Kevin didn't care, he made the film he wanted and I for one keep going back. I do not want to see CLERKS over and over in differnt sub plots, I want new KS movies.. he is a very brilliant filmmaker and is YOUNG, in time he will be seen in a whole differnt light.. people are so quick to judge.
