...that's my whole defense of Mallrats being my favorite VA pic. If the dialogue is going to be unrealistic, might as well make the whole movie follow. This, of course, is why Chasing Amy is my least favorite (though that's not the best way to put it, since I really liked Chasing Amy).
For me that "take our relationship to the next plateau" line grated at me (slightly misquoted).
