There was quite a bit of talk down below about how Jersey Girl will do at the box office. Well since they don't start shooting until next month none of us know. It would be nice for Kevin and Scott to finally get out of the cult status category.

From what we hear, Jersey Girl will be a bit more serious than Clerks, Mallrats or JSBSB, but still a comedy. Dogma had some serious moments and Chasing Amy was quite serious, at least the last third (ok, the scene with Quiet Bob and the Longed Haired Boy wasn't all that serious), but even that scene had it's somber moments (the Chasing Amy Part)

Having a "Name" cast doesn't guarantee anything. Vanilla Sky had a name cast and while it made money, it wasn't what one could call a huge hit. Hell, when was the last time Ahnold had a hit movie, and he gets all the hype in the world?

Kevin has proven he can do much more than write dick and fart movies, and he has taken untested talent and brought out the best in them. That is why it doesn't bother me that Lopez is going going to co-star.

I for one will NOT be boycotting this movie. I hope it is a big hit AND I hope Lee's new movie does well so Kevin gets to make the Fletch movie. Having read all of the Fletch books, this one has the makings of great story for the silver screen. With the way that Lee delivers Kevin's dialogue it should be a perfect combination.

Well, it is almost time for me to go out and have my Egg-A-Mooby-Muffin, so I will sign off for now.
