God can be a woman while JC is a black man...they were two different people. As for Rickman's comments, he's obviously skewing everything to the male side throughout the movie...although after the whole Bethany in a white shirt in a pond routine, he begrudingly admits God (and hence the parent of JC) is a *she*.
Just my take on things.

: Hey, just recently watched Dogma again and i was wondering, the fact that even though they know God to be a woman everyone keeps refering to her as "he". And Chris Rock seem's adament that JC is a black man, then Alan Rickman refers to God as JC's Father, wouldn't that make her a Black Male??? so is God a hermathrodite or something??? just kinda curious about all this but it's a great film with loads of questions that need answers.
