Isn't this kind of "all or nothing" thinking just hard to live by? I mean, sure, there were some things said, and some irritation here & there, but it'd be a little easier to see this as just a chance to learn some boundaries and move on.
This "pick up my modem and go home" bit is over-the-top, don't you think?
Glad to hear you make a statement against assault & stalking - that's for the best. I expect that you can find some kind of middle ground, if you want to look for it.
Just a thought -- if it is your preference to be gone, so be it.
