the syntax is not Smith's - and neither is the dialogue nor subject matter. you are a boner.

: Just a theory that I've had for a looooooooong long time....
: I strongly believe that Kevin Smith is the REAL writer of "Good Will Hunting". Here's my argument:
: The witty dialogue and everything seems like Kevin Smith banter that can only come from his smart mind. I think he wanted to do a serious film but feared that such a flick would never be accepted due to his name/reputation bringing images of Jay and Silent Bob to the public's mind.
: In order for "Good Will Hunting" to be given a 'fair' chance by the movie going public, Kevin passed the movie writing credits off on Affleck and Damon. If Damon and Affleck were the true writers of "Good Will Hunting", why no follow up script? With their newfound clout and power ANY script they produced would be picked up by Hollywood and made into a flick. I think Affleck and Damon feel so guilty for winning the Oscar for "GWH" and not being able to give Kevin credit that they are willing to do any Kevin Smith movie. This loyalty seems to go above and beyond simple friendships...
: So my argument is that Kevin Smith is the sole 'ghost' writer behind "Good Will Hunting" and should be given the proper credit he deserves. Alright, as I step down off of my soapbox, I put on my helment and welcome any blunt objects you folks may throw in my direction for making such a bold statement.
: Anyone agree with me? Hopefully this will get some of you thinking...if not it'll give you a incredible opportunity to blast my good name. Bring it on....i'm definitely waiting for your responses.
